Substitute Consortium anyone?

In the course of our Placer COE implementation, we have encountered something new: the Substitute Consortium. This is a set of information regarding substitutes that is maintained at the County level.

This information is used in a variety of ways by people at the district level. We have already had a design session there to determine their requirements.

So now we are asking the rest of you that read our blog if you have any experience with Substitute Consortiums, and would like to share information you have.

If so, please put your contact information in a comment to this entry, and we will be in touch with you. Thanks!

Happy Mother's Day

Saluting all the Moms in the Escape Family! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Things are HAPPENING in Ventura County Office of Education!!!

The countdown to our live date has begun, and there is a small army working on testing and verifying in Escape Online to ensure a smooth transition.

Here’s a sample of what has happened the first week of May:

  • Verifying the calculation and reporting of assignment record changes.
  • Reviewing each report that is run with every payroll, comparing Escape Classic and Online, as well as customer VCOE reports. This resulted in a 3-page comparison with recommendations - with a couple of changes, but not many.
  • Testing the check printing in the computer room using the real workstation and printer – discovered we need to make a few changes.
  • Testing interfaces and the setup for the database migration.
  • Making sure that the county oversight tasks work correctly – JEs, reports, interfaces to other systems (recon, interest, county treasurer).
  • Verifying and testing retirement reports.
  • Importing offline College retirement files to Escape Online.

Next week we start with the parallel testing. Everyone (district and county staff) will be doing their real work in the Escape Online, making sure that everything is working. We'll also be running the nightly interface processes.

This has been an awesome team effort with great results!
